Under Pressure Exhibition

When placed in an official setting, the compelling Under Pressure pictures become an effective tool in getting stakeholders and the public to find out about the challenges of living with MS. EMSP can chose from a total of 600 Under Pressure photos, out of which 38 are already available in on-display panels suitable for public exhibitions.

There are two sets of the same photos ready for travel in wooden protection boxes:

  1. Exhibition Set I:
    The panel dimensions are 100 cm wide & 75 cm high. There are 38 intro texts & photos printed on 2 millimeter thin aluminum panels, with wire on the backside for easy hanging. Set I is stored in two wooden boxes.
  2. Exhibition Set II:
    The panel dimensions are 100 cm wide & 75 cm high. There are 38 intro texts & photos printed on 2 millimeter thin aluminum panels, with wire on the backside for easy hanging. Set II is stored in one wooden box with a weight of 30kg.
  3. Exhibition Set III:

The newest of the three sets. The panel dimensions are 100 cm wide & 75 cm high, with one exception (the sponsors panel, which is smaller). There is one panel with the intro text, one containing the names and logos of the sponsors and 24 photo panels. The set is accommpanied by 12 wooden easels created especially to fit the panels. Here are a few pictures from a recent Under Pressure exhibition organised in Brussels using the new set:

The panels described above are usually supported by the Under Pressure Exhibition Brochure, which shows one exhibition photo of each of the participating 12 countries, plus 12 one-page country profiles. Please make sure to order a sufficient number of brochures for the participants of your event with minimum two weeks in advance.

We would be glad to help you organise such events. Here is how it all works:

  1. Check the availability of the pictures. For this you will need to address the Under Pressure Project Coordinator, Mate Tagaj (mate.tagaj@emsp.org), who will point out what photos are earmarked with “First Access Right” by national MS Societies and what photos are available immediately.
  2. Set a timeline for preparations. Please take into account that the road from expression of interest to the actual event takes up to four weeks.
  3. Consider the costs. The transport and additional hosting costs will have to be covered by the organiser, who will also be in charge with sending the pictures back to EMSP. Some entities will have to negotiate a contribution for the use of the photos, so please take into consideration the following:
    1. EMSP member organisations have free use of the exhibition for events up to two weeks in a row, provided they can afford the transport costs. In certain cases, EMSP may even consider covering these transport costs;
    2. EMSP sponsors who have contributed financially to the Under Pressure project have free use of the exhibition for events up to two weeks in a row, but they are expected to pay for the transport costs for each of their respective events;
    3. Entities not having contributed financially to the Under Pressure project (example: industry companies, other NGOs or different stakeholders) will negotiate a financial contribution.
  4. Sign the contract. Please contact EMSP to get a sample contract when all the preparations are done.

Two other examples of successful Under Press Exhibitions are the ones organised in 2013 in Italy and Estonia, respectively:
